Book excerpt: The books main setting is in the state of Kentucky. It begins with information concerning a woman of wealth decision to move from Hollywood to Sweden. She contacts a family member of this decision and the information is overheard by an inebriated listener. This bit of news is passed to rivaling TV stations. They connect it with the travel of a nominee hopeful campaigning for the office of US President. He has been misdirected by his hapless campaign manager. Both Stations send several seasoned reporters to collect the salacious story. All three planes arrive in Sweden and chaos develops because of misinformation. The betrayals that occur during these misadventures cause their reputations to be in questioned. The woman arrives and makes a brief connection with friends of her deceased husband. She delivers a gift to his former classmate that is unappreciated. She settles in comfortably and is happy with her entourage. The reporters are suspicious of the news source and he is incarcerated with the hopeful nominee. While husbands are absent changes at their homes occur with their wives disappearing. The three husbands find that finances secured through corrupt means find that these have been taken by their spouses. The men find their way back to less lavish lifestyles by honest means. They find contentment.
