Sample Book Insights: #1 As children, we are unable to understand the dangers of the world, so we accept at face value what we are told by our parents and authority figures. From an evolutionary perspective, this makes sense. #2 The most important question we should ask ourselves is whether or not we are morally justified in exploiting animals. By living this way, we fail to consider the most important question. #3 The question of whether or not to eat animal products is ultimately an ethical one. The best argument for going vegan is that it is the right thing to do, based on what most people consider to be the values that they should live by. #4 I was a self-proclaimed KFC addict. I enjoyed eating at KFC, and it formed a large part of my identity. But I began to realize that my values weren’t in alignment with my actions. I wasn’t alone.
