Later he attended Mt. San Antonio College, and following graduation there he earned his Bachelor’s Degree (Social Sciences) at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona. Wilkins has always taken a keen interest in social issues. In Santa Ana, California, he founded Catholic Americans for Peace Through Strength. In the early 1990s he actively participated in Right to Life, and in 1996 he joined the Indiana Citizens Volunteer Militia, where he served as an officer until 2002.
