Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report describes the initial version of AQUARIUS, a computer model devoted to the temporal and spatial allocation of water flows among competing traditional and nontraditional water uses in a river basin. AQUARIUS is an analysis framework rather than a single dedicated model for water allocation. It uses an object-oriented programming language, which is ideal for water systems where each system component (e.g., reservoir, demand area, diversion point, river reach) is an object in the programming environment.
