Each chapter provides objectives, detailed and practical materials, examples from internationally reputable journal articles, exercises, and assignments. Examples from internationally reputable journal articles play roles in embodying detailed materials into practices; exercises and assignments are beneficial to provide students with opportunities to practice. This book begins its explanation with a very basic unit in English academic writing, namely phrases. Students are then gradually introduced to clauses and sentences since many students face challenges in writing effective sentences and identifying clauses and their types, respectively. Students also learn about citations and references, which are vital in academic writing. They subsequently learn how to write effective paragraphs that maintain unity and coherence at the macro-level, meso-level, and micro-level. Ultimately, students are introduced to how to write essays and journal articles.
