The New Reading Section now has only 3 or 4 passages each followed by 9 or 10 questions. The passages and question types remain the same. This actually gives you more time to answer each question. The New Listening Section now has either 2 or 3 sets of passages. Each set consists of either one conversation and two lectures with 17 questions, or one conversation and one lecture with 10 questions. If you get 3 sets, one of them will not be scored. The question types, passages and difficulty of this section is unchanged. The New Speaking Section has removed questions 1 and 5. The other major change is that our score is now determined by one human rater and the "SpeechRater" software rather than two humans. Don't worry. This only makes things easier for ETS. The rest of this section remains the same. The New Writing Section is virtually unchanged. HELPFUL TIP: Both the Speaking and Writing sections test your ability to follow the RUBRIC (rules) that ETS has established for correct responses. In other words, you may speak and write in perfect English, but if you don't follow the TOEFL iBT RUBRIC, you will receive a low score.
