He attended the University of Texas at Austin and Columbia University in New York City before relocating to Ireland, where he teachers history. His poetry has been published on both sides of the Atlantic in journals and small collection, William Montgomery by New York based chapbook publisher Modern Metrics which Quincy founded with R. Nemo Hill. Quincy has taken part on many readings on both sides of the Atlantic and facilitates an on-line poetry workshop.
