They come to a sudden end when Dick is falsely accused of having adulterous affair. When Ann hears of it, broken hearted and weeping she runs off into a bitter cold Montana winter night and collapse onto the snow covered ground. Dick finds her and again declares his innocence which Ann accepts just in the nick of time.
