Economically the Swadeshi movement consisted, of using goods produced in the country in preference to those imported from abroad, and politically making the administration as far as possible Indian. As an integral part of undivided Bengal the South Assam actively participated in the movement. The present work is an attempt to analyse detailed study of a six year period in Bengal's history in general and South Assam in particular under pan-India context. Many event and activities of Swadeshi movement during 1905-1911 in South Assam has been traced out from primary materials and archival sources. This study brings to light the happenings of Swadeshi movement and boycott in South Assam.
