Book excerpt: We discuss tau identification techniques at hadron colliders, and present the measurements and the searches performed so far. We report on the first evidence of t{anti t} production in the channel containing one hadronically decaying [tau] lepton. We also present a search for the charged Higgs boson in the tau decay channel, as well as for the leptoquark family containing tau leptons. In addition, we underline the importance of tau physics both at present and future collider experiments.
