Book excerpt: The Portland Tales is the first book of short stories written by Grant Keltner. Both fictitious and non-fictitious in nature, tales of life growing up in Oregon. Some of the stories are funny, some are sad; some are stories of love and faith, some are stories of miracles, stories of friends and family. The book contains historical events with my family, some of the stories are of people that I've encountered through the years. Portland, Oregon is the centerpiece of many of the stories in this book. This collection includes short stories that were inspired from my recollections with events, fables and yarns that cover my upbringing here in the City of Roses. It's my intent to remember the times that meant the most to me and pass them down for others to enjoy.
