They both experience the war first-hand in Europe and the South Pacific. Annie, the sister who wanted to see the world instead remains on the home front, but is not immune from the tragedy of war. This story tells of life during the war years and the struggle to overcome the discrimination against women. It is also the story of strong family love that helped them through their darkest days.
